Alyson has a true passion for her home continent of South America. Since leaving Peru to live in Canada, she has been dreaming of returning in a capicity in which she can contribute to Latin American economic and social development through tourism.
Alyson studied tourism and International business at Concordia University in Montreal and has worked directly with local communities, artisans, cooperatives and farmers in more than 20 countries to develop travel itineraries that promote and celebrate authentic cultural traditions. She also has experience working in the fair trade industry in Canada, allowing her to help local artisans from many countries. Alyson is dedicated to promoting fair trade, responsible tourism, and community enrichment. This dedication, paired with her extensive knowledge of different countries, makes her a force in developing responsible tourism within the tourism industry. Her dedication nurtures travel experiences that offer a true exchange of cultures, and that serve to benefit all involved.
Alyson is also a creative organizer, and she has accompanied more than 1500 people to different countries. Her education, her expertise and her passion have nourished her dreams and allowed her to create Alyra Expeditions, an organization dedicated to the creation and coordination of customized cultural experiences and positive impact projects.
