Born in Quebec to Croatian parents who met in France. For Franjo, travel has always been an integral part of his life. In addition to the many summers of his youth spent in Croatia, young Franjo was lucky enough to be able to accompany his mother to her country of origin where she worked as a guide.
As he grew older, his passion for discovering other cultures only improved with age. When his brother settled down in Basque country in France, Franjo made it his home base while he travelled Europe with close friends. Later, Franjo had the opportunity to live for a time in Colombia where he got the chance to discover Latin American culture and learn Spanish.
Franjo holds a bachelor’s degree in management from the John Molson School of Business in Montreal and later specialized in the management of human resources.
In addition to his expertise Franjo enjoys other passions: Discovering different cultures through, notably, their food. He considers himself a very good cook and a fan of good cuisine.
Franjo was born in Montreal. He has always loved the vast cultural palette that enriches the city, where its inhabitants and visitors are given ample opportunity to experience the wealth of multiculturalism. Franjo embodies this multiculturalism very well, himself a father of a Colombian daughter and Quebecois children with whom he wades between languages and culture.
Warm and welcoming, Franjo is fuelled by the multicultural exchanges with the travellers he tours around.
His love for humanity and its values, which align perfectly with Alyra Expeditions‘ philosophy of travel, is what drives him and has led him to work with our organization, where he can share the secrets of his country, Croatia, with you.
He invites you to join him then, to discover the millenia-old region, replete with the stories of the people who built it and made it a place where impressive architecture and breathtaking landscapes meet, and home to a community rich in history and unforgettable humans who’ll love to share it with you.
